The Atlas of Global Conservation contains over 80 global maps describing the state of terrestrial, freshwater and marine habitats.

Data Basin

Data Basin

www.databasin.org

A team of scientists, software engineers, and educators at the Conservation Biology Institute (CBI) built Data Basin with the strong conviction that we can expand our individual and collective ability to develop sustainable solutions by empowering more people through access to spatial data, non-technical tools, and collaborative networks. The core of Data Basin is free and provides open access to thousands of scientifically-grounded, biological, physical, and socio-economic datasets.

FEOW – Freshwater Ecoregions of the World

FEOW – Freshwater Ecoregions of the World

www.feow.org

The Freshwater Ecoregions of the World provide a global biogeographic regionalization of the Earth's freshwater biodiversity. Together with associated species data, it is a tool for underpinning global and regional conservation planning efforts, particularly to identify outstanding and imperiled freshwater systems.

HydroBASINS

HydroBASINS

www.hydrosheds.org/page/hydrobasins

HydroBASINS, a series of polygon layers, depicts watershed boundaries and provides a seamless global coverage of consistently sized and hierarchically nested sub-basins at different scales. An included coding scheme allows analysis of watershed topology such as up- and downstream connectivity.

IBAT - Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool

www.ibat-alliance.org/ibat-conservation/login

The tool IBAT for Research and Conservation Planning contributes access to a range of global and national data layers, such as protected area boundaries, biological information about habitat and species diversity indices, and key areas for biodiversity. IBAT is made possible by a diverse set of data providers, users and funders (BirdLife International, Conservation International, IUCN and UNEP WCMC). Accessing IBAT requires a registration.

LifeWeb

LifeWeb

lifeweb.cbd.int

LifeWeb is an initiative by the the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) which endeavours facilitate financing that helps secure livelihoods and address climate change through supporting the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the CBD Programme of Work on Protected Areas. Investments in the projects promoted through the LifeWeb Initiative contribute to sustaining our natural capital, improving livelihoods and help us reach the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
